Pink Ranger Switch

Im sure most of you know the reason that the pink ranger was changed after the team up with space. But for those of you who dont know here it is.

The girl that plaied Kendrix was diagnosed with an ailment (i think a type of cancer) that prevented her to compleate the season of tapeing in California. The writing staff new about it and decided to write her out during the team up and also make her the first ranger to die in action. She returned for the seaon fanally as a spirit. I understand why the switch was made now but when it happend I was confused. Does anyone else feel that Saban should have explained publicly why the switch happend? And do you feel the switch helped or hurt the show?

Ever though i think she was an awesome pink ranger who inspired alot of younger people, i think it was her time to go they way they got rid of her wasnt really that nice i mean they could have held it out longer.
But they did switch her with an awesome actor so i think that Karone made a great addition to Galaxy.

I hated the switch, but it was for the actress sake, so I agree but I really don´t like Karone, I liked her as Astronema/Karone in PR in Space but as the pink ranger, really don´t like her
I´m glad Kendrix came back in the finale and she was the one who appeared in the teamup with Lighspeed Rescue

it always confused me why she was in the lightspeed teamup but then again i think she was the better of the two.

She came back in the finale of LG, when the rangers putted back the Quasar Sabers into the stone again, the people from Mirinoi where saved from the rock status and Kendrix was 'reincarnated'

aww i see i guess i didnt watch the fanally that closely...i thought she came back as a spirit...kindof just showing aprovial for them compleating the mission

I actually preferred Karone as Kendrix was a bit "flat" to me (character wise). As far as making a public statement, I dont think it would've been necessary because being that this was on a children's network, it'd probably confuse the kids. But then again, maybe something could've been said at the end of the episode, in the fashion of when Cast members all stand around and get serious for a moment and talk to the audience in a public service announcement type thing.

Think of how a sitcom would have an episode about drugs or sex and then inform the reason for the episode at the end before the credits

yea i remember an episode of Family Matters that did that...it was one of the first times you saw the guy that played Urkal out of Character and being serious.

i kind of liked it and didn't really. I liked the idea of karone being a ranger to make up for when she was evil, but the way they wrote kendrix out of it was a bit harsh. It could of been something like: she got a job at some intergalactic space station i.e. SPD HQ (not really but just as an example) or that she sort of fell through the portal to mirinoi and couldn't get back so Karone became her substitute. I mean it could of really made kids go off power rangers if the rangers were getting killed.

I liked Kendrix better, but I do think Karone was a fair replacement. Although, continuing to credit Kendrix as being the Pink Ranger and have Karone just appear in the opening credits just as Karone and not as the Pink Ranger left me confused, then and now. It's odd to see the Pink Ranger not credited as such. I know they probably had to, due to contracts, it's just odd, that's all.
