Two Rangers brought together by a destiny. As they fight the bond between the team grows stronger. But could it be more to the two of them than just friends. This is the ongoing story of the Nick the Red Mystic Ranger, and Madison the Blue Mystic Ranger.
Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers, I'm just a fanfic loving teen who happens to write about them.
Author's note: Yes my first PR fic about my favorite ranger couple. Nick, and Madison. Now before you go off into la la la, listen. Some of you may not have noticed but I sensed a lot of chemistry between Maddy, and Nick. Why don't know for sure but Madison reminds me of myself with her shy attitude. I watched my recording of it over and over, and I still see the connection. Each of these short stories are for the challenge I am sure you have all heard about Ars Amatoria's Ranger Romance Themes. I decided to get creative, and write out what I saw underneath all of what was happening. No I am not making this lovey dovey this is a serious fiction exploring the emotions they have in what happens. You'll just have to read to find out more. Oh BTW this chapter takes place in Broken Spell Part 1, and 2. And trust me not all of the chapters will have a huge overview of what happened but I felt it was needed for this chapter. So here it is enjoy, and please review.
Chapter 1: Why?
I watched him fixing up his bike already knowing why…
He was leaving.
Why did I care so much? We could probably do fine with out Nick. I mean it’s not like he was the whole backbone of our team. Yet something inside me told me he shouldn’t leave. That the whole team wouldn’t function without him, sure I had just met him earlier that day but still there was something special about Nick. He had the courage to with that man into the woods. Pretty much if he never volunteered, or Xandar talked him out of going the rest of us wouldn’t have been dragged into this destiny we now have.
Nick was truly a courageous young guy, and after a while I started to see it. Though, once Undonna told us “To use magic all you have to do is believe in magic.” He was unable to believe in magic though, even after he saw us being able to use it. I tried to encourage him. “Try believing again. Maybe it didn’t catch on the first time.” But our new mentor looked at him with disappointment clearly written on her face. Then I watched as Nick walked off, it was sad in a way to see the one teenager that had stepped forward to help that old man just walk off like that.
Before I could ponder this any longer a horrible sorcerer named Koragg attacked us. Using dark magic he took our surprised moment, and un preparedness to knock us off our feat. Making us vulnerable, and weak before him. Udonna told us to stay back. She then went after him to defend us, and since we still didn’t have our Magi Staffs, or even no how to use them, we had to watch her fight alone. Our mentor put her whole heart into battling him but the dark magic overruled her attacks. So we watched in terror as that monster vanquished ally, though still alive she was weak, and lost her armor. The evil sorcerer then took her Snow Staff, and left us with a warning. After that battle I knew we needed Nick. I just have to get up the courage to talk to him. Encourage him that he is needed, and maybe also that he can do the magic because we needed him now more than ever.
Taking a deep breath Madison made her way to where Nick was fixing his bike.
----------------------
Nick slowly used his tools to try, and get his bike back into shape. Noticing a huge dent from when he overturned during that big earthquake. He grunted in frustration as he tried to screw in a stubborn bolt on his bike. Though he was doing it for another reason too. It had been a rough day…
This day has been one of the weirdest, and toughest I have ever faced. I had planned to go straight to my sister’s when I reached Briarwood but a huge dent from that earth quake messed the gears on my bike, so I really had no chance of riding it anymore. Sure I could have walked but it would have taken too long, so I stopped under a shady tree that was right across the street from a small shop called ‘The Rock Porium’, to fix it. Not to far from where I was working on my bike I heard an old man shouting for help. “It’s my brother” He began then after explaining what happened to him, he told them the directions. “It’s just out of town some creature took him into the woods.” I watched as people began to leave. I couldn’t stand seeing no one helping that poor guy so I spoke up. “I will.” The man thanked me, next thing I knew though this blond haired Australian teenager was trying to talk me out of it, telling me. “You go into those woods. You’ll never be seen again.”
Of course I have heard about this my sister had told me about it before. But I still wouldn’t back down. Plus I didn’t believe in witches, sorcerers, or anything relating to magic. In a way I think I also went to prove them wrong about it. Two others spoke up after I made a reply, they said they would go with me. So we left making our way towards the woods. Surprisingly that Australian teenager joined us, and another girl who was apparently Vida’s as she had told me that was her name, sister. As we walked into the woods I thought this would be a normal save the guy’s brother from some mishap then go home. But soon I learned I was wrong.
I was dragged into a place where there was a prophecy saying five mystical warriors would step forward to claim their destinies. She said. “You. Are the Power Rangers.” This was too much for me, and I could tell it was that way for the others too. Well except for that red haired teenage boy named Chip, that is. Before we could ask more her apprentice showed up to tell her about something. The sorceress Udonna left, but not without telling us not to go into the woods by ourselves, still I suggested we leave. The others agreed, and we started too but Udonna’s apprentice got in the way. She said some weird words then turned into a sheep. Okay that was enough; I’m out of here. Putting down the small stick with the red winged design, down I walked off, as did the others who soon followed.
One of the biggest mistakes I have ever madder in my entire life. You know the old saying “Out of the frying pan, and into the fire.” Well it fit in with what happened to us. As soon as we came out we ran into that sorceress again, and we also ran into a huge beast too. While Udonna transformed before our eyes into what she said was. “White Mystic Ranger.” The others were in awe. But our trouble was just beginning as soon as she left some odd looking creatures surrounded us. Trying to come up with what to do, many suggestions were said including surrendering. Then Vida’s sister, Madison that was her name, spoke up. “Or fight?” I felt a small grin cross my lips, maybe I could do this after all. “We fight!” But Xandar stopped me by saying “There is a third option.” Reasoning, which I could tell wouldn’t work . So we started to fight these creatures for our lives.
I knew all of us were big time even I wasn’t able to stand up to these things. Then Udonna spoke. “Just remember this: To use magic, all you have to do is, believe in magic!” The others caught on. But I thought that was a really ridicules thing to do. So I didn’t try it till I felt I was desperate. “Okay.” I panted having short breaths. “I guess I believe too.” I flinched as an ax came down at me. But inside me I was burning with dismay. It didn’t work. I tried that stupid magic stuff, and it didn’t work for me. The ax was coming down fast but the White Ranger rescued me. I groaned as I got up feeling my body bruised, and in bad shape.
She asked if we were up to becoming rangers now. I wasn’t, and I don’t think I would ever be. It didn’t work for me. Cleary means I’m not cut out for the job. “I’m not your guy.” I said. Madison tried to help me but I didn’t care it wasn’t going to work. And besides that ‘I believe in magic stuff.’ Just doesn’t work for me.
So here I am fixing my bike ready to leave this town for good. I don’t want to have nothing to do with this or to be dragged back into it. I’m not cut out to be a ranger. Beside, I am sure that they are probably doing a fine job without me. I don’t even truthfully believe in magic, and quite frankly I don’t think I ever will.
