It was another sunny day in Coolstown, California. Ryan Sanders took his usuall route to school: Past the Post Office, through the Country Club, and around the park into Coolstown High's main driveway, where he met up with his best friend, Troy Jones. Just like Ryan, Troy was tall, slim, and athletic. They were like identical twins.
"Hey" Ryan said casually. "What's up?"
"Nothing. Absolutely nothing. That's the problem."
"What's wrong with that? We deserve a break from sports and everything else every once in a while, you know."
"I know, but I'm bored. I can't stand having nothing to do."
"Just live with it and try to relax."
"The thing is, like I've told you before, I can't"
Suddenly the bell for first period rang.
"Well, just hope something will come up soon. " Ryan said, but Troy was already caught in the scramble of people going to class.
While school at Coolstown High was going on that day, Kimberly Heart was working on something that would soon vanish Troy Jones' boredom. It was a little project that would be critical in the near future. She worked all day, and at 3:00, when she was done, she headed over to Coolstown High to see if her project wanted to be used.
When she got there, Kimberly searched for somebody who might test her experiment. After looking for some time around the school yard, she found the perfect person sitting around doing nothing. Troy Jones. He was perfect. He was a good size, looked very athletic, and seemed bored enough to do anything for anybody.
"Um...Excuse Me?" Kimberly asked him casually.
"Yeah?" Troy replied, not as polite as he could have been.
"It looks like you have a lot of free time on your hands. Could you help me with something?"
"Sure, I've got nothing better to do"
"Great, then come with me"
Kimberly walked toward her red Jeep and Troy followed. Sure, the number 1 rule in his family was always "Don't get into a car with strangers", but he was a teenager now, what could go wrong?
Kimberly took Troy back to her house where she brought him into her basement. The basement looked normal, nothing out of the ordinary. Dusty, lots of boxes and crates, and it only had a single light that lit about one tenth of the room. Kimberly Paused for a second. She didn't know how to tell Troy what she needed to say. Finally, she was ready.
"Troy, This may be a shock to you, but try not to freak out, ok?"
"Um...Sure" Troy replied, a little bit worried.
Kimberly continued, "Have you ever head of the Power Rangers"
"Yeah, there those people who save the world form bad guys, right?
"Right...you see, Troy, this is the part that might freak you out. I was the origional Pink Ranger"
Kimberly was right. Troy was shocked. His mouth dropped open and his eyes widened. He finally got the courage to speak a few minutes later. "You're the first Pink Power Ranger...ever?"
"Yes. But that was thirteen years ago. I'm too old for that now. You see, Troy, I was on my computer the other day when some of it's sensors went off that said there's a high energy rating just outside of Coolstown. "
"So you went to check it out?"
"Exactly. And as I got closer to the spot, I noticed less and less plant and animal life."
"And then what?" Troy asked, eger to find out.
"I heard a loud roar so I ran back to my jeep and came back here."
"Look, I don't even know your name..."
"Kimberly"
"...Ok, that's great. But what do I have to do with this?"
"Troy, this may be hard for you to notice right now, but somebody... or something evil as awaken. A new team of Power Rangers must be built."
Troy finally understood. His eyes got even wider than the first time and his mouth dropped even futher down. "So your asking me...to...to become a Power Ranger?"
Kimberly put her foot down on a certain tile on the floor and one of the walls opened up, revealing a high-tech room with all of the latest technology. She continued, "You guessed right. I...and the world...needs you." Kimberly walked over to a table in the center of the room, picked up a silver case, and walked back to Troy. "Will you help save the planet by becoming a ranger?"
While Kimberly was saying everything, Troy's eyes kept on getting wider and wider. This time, it took him even longer to respond. "If the world needs me, I'll help"
This time it was Kimberly's turn to be shocked. She didn't think that it would be so easy to get a ranger. It didn't take her long to respond, though.
"Thank you so much, Troy. Now without wasting too much time..."
Kimberly opened the case and took out a blue device that looked like a cell phone. She handed it to Troy. "This is your Discovery Morpher. All you have to do is press the numbers 1, 4, and 7 and say 'Discovery Squad Blue! Power Up!' and you will morph into a Power Ranger."
"Ok, sounds easy enough, should I try it out now?"
"No, I still have to work out a fuw glitches in it. But I need you to find other people to be rangers. Can you do that?"
"Um..Sure. So should I come back here with four other people tomorrow?"
"That would be awesome."
"Ok, great" Troy said, "See you then"
"Bye" Kimberly said. There was a bit of uncertainty in her voice. She just hoped the new Power Rangers would be enough.
