does anyone else think it is odd that for two seasons in a row (NS and DT) the starting team only had 3 rangers and then added from there? It seems like Super Sentai was experimenting with the rule of 3 instead of the rule of 5. Maybe they intended to use 3 to develope the characters better than having to do 5 at once...but in spd they went back to 5 to start and ended up with 10 (major over kill). However if you look at what disney did with SPD they started with the 3 and then added Jack and Z to the team that was aready there. I wonder what the thought of this was. This was the first time it was done this way and i was kindof suprised when it didnt continue in mystic...
any comments?

I think eight is an okay amount but no more than that. Too many rangers can make the show so mixed up it could become confusing.

well in SPD we had 7 constants and 3 one time rangers but even that was confusing...what about the three ranger thing to start with...does it make it easy to develope the characters when you have less to start with?

i thought that NS and DT was a good idea to start off with 3 because it was a change from 5.

Well, in SPD, we didn't see much of Sky, Bridge or Syd in the beginning. Right in the second ep, Jack and Z became rangers and as we know, there were 38 eps, scribbling out any chances of a character development. 8 rangers is one too many and they should stick to 6 rangers. Specially with the depleting number of episodes, the rangers need more screen time and with 7 or 8 rangers, it becomes too obvious the good side will win...

how about the fact that they changed the timeline with spd and put it in 2020...
also 38 episodes is fine if you only have 5 rangers...look at DT.
I really wish disney would focus on characters and not battles...saban did this perfectly with MMPR and even Turbo (with Justin) I think if they went back to keeping rangers for multipul seasons it would not be so hard to develop them

Well the timeline really got on my nerves because the american abarangers/DT rangers wouldn't remeber fighting alongside them, the same thing will probably happen to MF.

im also currious to see if Jack is in the mf teamup...especially if they write it as a story that happens after SPD defeats grum and brudwing

maybe it won't because they have magical powers remember so they can put a block but then again they might not know.

First, where are you getting 10 rangers? I count 9.
Red Blue Yellow Pink Green Shadow Omega Nova Kat
Where's the 10th Ranger? Only way I see 10 is if you count the A-Squad, which raises the number to 14. Who's the 3rd one-time ranger?
Second, I loved how NS started off with three. NS broke the mold in so many ways, even if it was just copying Sentai. I thought at the time that Disney was smart by starting their first PR series totally different than all the others before them (this was before I knew PR was based off of Sentai). The way I saw it, NS broke the mold and DT continued in that mold, but SPD for some reason went back to the classic mold.

Boom was the orange ranger in a dream sequence or a simulation sequance in the episode "boom"
SPD was special police DEKARANGERS in japan / deka means 10 in most languages

I never considered Boom a Ranger because the first suit was a dream, and the second one was haphazardly put together, and Boom was never given a morpher nor ever called a Ranger.
Who was the 10th Ranger in Dekaranger?

The 10th ranger in Deka was DekaGold, she appeared in the movie only and just henshined for a brief second, it was during a flashback and she was beated right after the henshin finished
Dekaranger in japanese means detective ranger
